The American Heart Association San Diego Division’s Go Red For Women Luncheon was on Friday, February 8, 2013! It was marvelous with over 550 people in attendance wearing their RED outfits. Preliminary numbers indicate the luncheon grossed $340,000!
It started with a Silent Auction, and then moved onto the luncheon, where many heartwarming stories about overcoming adversity! Reena Horowitz & Lori DeMaria were the co-chairs. The San Diego’s Go Red Legendary Women of the Heart were Betty Beyster, Marye Ann Fox, Joan Jacobs, Jeanne Jones, Darlene Marcos Shiley and Go Red’s Passion Speaker Melissa Mitchell, with her two children, Chance & Cadence. Barbara-Lee Edwards from KFMB CBS Affiliate Station opened it up.
Finally, there was a model runway for Zandra Red to display her fashions, which were extraordinary.
That finalized with the Survivor Model Walk, with Susan Mahler, Natalie Hawryluk, Vicky Powell, Bridget Winandy, and Marcy Shugert wearing some of Zandra’s favorites.
Thank you to Mary Ostrander for organizing this year’s Go Red for Women Luncheon to such a success!
